2008 SBS Season Passes, 50th Anniversary Books Make Perfect Christmas Gifts

SOUTH BOSTON, VA…. Christmas is drawing closer with each passing day
and for those folks looking for a great gift for their favorite
racing fans there is no gift any better than a South Boston
Speedway 2008 season pass.
South Boston Speedway 2008 season passes are on sale for $160, a
price that represents a $15 savings from the price of the track’s
2007 season passes.
The 2008 Season Pass is a gift that will keep on giving all year long
as South Boston Speedway will stage 18 events in 2008, beginning with
the season opener on March 22. Included on the schedule are 16 points
races for South Boston Speedway’s top three NASCAR racing divisions
to be encompassed in 14 race dates.
Among the track’s special events for the 2008 season are a 150-lap
NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series race on Saturday
night, May 31, two USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Northern Division
races (April 19 and August 9), and a new event on Friday night,
October 17, for the Old School racing Champions Tour, a racing series
featuring former NASCAR and ARCA racing stars.
Next season’s South Boston Speedway schedule also includes the
track’s annual pre-Fourth of July racing extravaganza, the
Bailey’s 200, on Thursday night, July 3, which features a 200-lap
NASCAR Late Model Stock Car race and a dazzling Fourth of July
fireworks display.
In addition, South Boston Speedway officials are planning a special
season finale event on Saturday, October 25, the details of which
will be announced at a later date.
Other great gift ideas for racing fans are a copy of South Boston
Speedway’s 50th anniversary book or a gift certificate for tickets
for 2008 season events.
South Boston Speedway’s 50th anniversary book entitled “South
Boston Speedway: The First Fifty Years,” is available for $15 per
copy. A true collector’s item, the book gives readers a detailed
insight of the history of South Boston Speedway and the people and
competitors that have made the track the legendary fixture in NASCAR
racing that it is today.
South Boston Speedway Gift Certificates are also a great gift. The
buyer can specify the amount of money he or she wishes to put into
the certificate and can get the gift certificate in plenty of time
for Christmas.
Still itching for another gift idea? South Boston Speedway has
reserved 2008 season tailgating spots on the backstretch on sale for
$285 each. Fans can pull their car or truck into the tailgating spot
and have a prime spot from which to watch the races and tailgate
along with their family and friends.
South Boston Speedway 2008 Season Passes, the track’s 50th
anniversary book, gift certificates and 2008 season reserved

South Boston Speedway officials also have tickets available for the
track’s upcoming awards ceremony which will be held Saturday night,
January 19, 2008, at The Prizery in South Boston.
Tickets for the awards ceremony are priced at $30 each and are
available for purchase at the speedway office or by mail or telephone.
The format of the awards ceremony will be similar to last year with
the awards ceremony being held at 6 p.m. in the Chastain Theater and
a Champions Reception with food, beverages and music being held in
the banquet hall following the awards ceremony.
